The purpose of the Iowa Electronic Records Committee (ERC) is to recommend and regularly review policies, guidelines, and best practices for the creation, maintenance, access, and long-term preservation or destruction of electronic records.

The next meeting of the Iowa ERC will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2003 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the State Historical Building, 600 East Locust Street, 3rd Floor West in Classroom B. Free visitor parking is available in the lot east of the building and in the new parking structure at Grand and Pennsylvania, north of the building.

The goal of the ERC is to bring together representatives of a wide range of agencies with a broad range of expertise. The ERC will address electronic records issues common to most state agencies and work together to develop sound statewide government information policies and guidelines that are both practical and meet the stated objectives.
